Inner Mongolia Medical Universty is located Huhhot, the capital city of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Founded in 1956, the college was the first medical institution of higher education built by the Central Government in an area inhabited by minority nationalities. For over half a century, the college has trained a large number of highly-qualified health care workes including clinicians, medical scientists and medical administrators, thus making great contributions to public health and social developments in the autonomous region. The Inner Mongolia Medical University is the only higher education institution in modern
medicine, traditional Chinese medicine and traditional Mongolian
medicine, which have co-existed, mutually promoted and commonly
developed for a long time. Based on teaching practice and
regional characteristics, Inner Mongolia Medical University has
always focused on the development of traditional Mongolian
Medicine and traditional Chinese medicine as its main disciplines,
gradually establishing distinctive discipline systems. The
university has become a leading and exemplary institution of

| Currently, the university is composed of 11 teaching departments, 2 adult education institutes and 1 public health technical school. It also has 5 affiliated hospitals, three of which are directly affiliated, and the other two are non-directly affiliated. Its 29 clinical training bases cover the entire country. There are 5 disciplines, 21 undergraduate specialties and 10specialties for medical professional training. The total number of students registered at IMMC is over 10,000. The university began to enroll graduates in 1978. There are 21 disciplines and specialties authorized to confer master's degrees, 374 tutors for graduate candidates, 1531 postgraduates who have finished their studies and 707 graduate students registered at IMMU now. | ![]() |

Founded in March 1958, it has become the largest most comprehensive hospital in providing first class treatment, teaching, research, preventative medicine and health care services to 1667 warded patients and receives more than 1 million outpatients and 47,000 hospitalized patients annually. There is presently 2081 faculty staff including 148 senior professionals, 248 associate professionals and 50 with doctorate degrees. The hospital is also equipped with nationally advanced ICU, CCU, stem cell transplantation laminar flow ward, blood purification centre, clinical examination centre, reproductive centre, hyperbaric oxygen centre, etc. It is also equipped with the latest hospital management network system (HIS and LIS systems).
