Dr John Tholen has been awarded the following qualifications: Diploma in Industrial Chemistry with Merit from Wollongong Institute of Advanced Studies; Bachelor of Science with double majors in Chemistry and Biochemistry from the University of Wollongong, including third-year Biochemistry subjects completed at Macquarie University, Sydney; Master of Science (Honours) in Natural Product Chemistry with Distinction; and Doctorate in Clinical Biochemistry from the University of New South Wales, Sydney, and the Prince of Wales Hospital. John also attended postgraduate studies in cGMP for pharmaceuticals at University Technology Sydney, as well as certification in adult teaching and assessment.

While completing his academic studies, John held senior laboratory management and R&D posts across several industries. As an R&D Chemist in a precious metal refinery, he supervised trial development and production of catalytic converters. He was then contracted by ACIAR/P.R. China for work on alkaloid testing and crop improvement, a very successful university-industry collaboration. During his work on natural products, he was also contracted to purify human lipid transfer protein from plasma for use in clinical diagnostics. His work in clinical diagnostics spanned several pathology laboratories, where he developed diagnostic assays and specialist testing services in cardiology, gastroenterology, immunology, nephrology, and endocrinology laboratories. In senior pathology roles, John conducted metabolic studies and clinical drug trials, and ensured regulatory compliance and accreditation (ISO 15189, GCP-NH&MRC, NATA, and cGMP). John has published his research in peer-reviewed journals.

Ms Du has provided central leadership in securing successful international business projects in Asia Pacific, particularly in China. Prior to joining INSCI, Ms Du held senior executive appointments for over a decade at major multinational advertising corporations such as McCann-Erickson, ACNielsen, Dentsu and Dawson, with accounts spanning several industry groups (healthcare, education, FMCG, IT, entertainment and automobile manufacturers). Her academic qualifications include degrees in advertising and marketing from the Macau Open University with an MBA dissertation in Brand Management.

Dr Anton Dominis BSc Chem., B.Edu., MSc (Hons) Chem., PhD Chem.

Dr Anton Dominis completed his Bachelor of Science degree with a double major in Chemistry at the University of Wollongong and earned his Master's degree with Honours by research. In 2001, he was awarded his Doctor of Philosophy in Chemistry with Distinction, investigating Polyaniline Emeraldine Salts for protection of carbon steel. Anton holds a Bachelor of Education, including NESA accreditation for lecturing and teaching chemistry and physics.

His career spans industry, academia, and secondary education, with a research background centred on electroactive conducting polymers and their applications in corrosion control and electrochemical sensors. As a Senior Project Scientist for two decades at BHP and the University of Wollongong, he specialised in investigating conducting polymers at the Intelligent Polymer Research Institute, alongside environmental toxicology studies on industrial effluent. Dr Dominis has published 11 international manuscripts in the field of conducting polymers.

Dr Dominis is an associate board member of the Sustainable Illawarra Development Institute (SIDI). He has a longstanding interest in urban planning, sustainable and eco-friendly design, and environmental issues, including the 'blue-carbon' system; he was an early advocate for a second opening to Lake Illawarra to support its environmental health, an initiative documented under "Wollongong Futures".

At INSCI, since joining in 2022, he supports university faculty by designing professional development, integrating technology, and improving curriculum — acting as a liaison and consultant to foster pedagogical excellence, drawing on evidence-based and scholarly approaches to improve student outcomes.
